There are many events of interest to rockhounds in and around Ontario and Quebec. Not only do we have events sponsored by our member clubs listed here, we have also listed activities that would be of interest to our members, which are within a day's driving distance.

Please bring steel toed shoes, hard hat, and safety goggles. You may arrive anytime between the open and closing hours, just sign in at the office.
8 & 9 Annual CCFMS Spring Quarry Collecting
This trip is open to all CCFMS members in good standing. Current 2004 Club membership cards need to be shown at the quarry gates prior to entry. Arrive before 8:30 a.m. Sign in as soon as you arrive. Safety talk at 8:45 a.m. sharp. Safety gear must be worn. Liability waiver must be signed. Collectors need to be over 16 years old.

9 OFTG & CCFMS Fall Field Trip - Yates Mine, Otter Lake, Quebec
All CCFMS members in good standing can attend. This mine has not been accessible to collectors for a few years and a considerable amount of work has been done to the property since it was last open to collecting, so it should be terrific collecting. A large turnout is appreciated since future trips might depend on a large attendance and safe collecting. 

Be at the gate for 9am. A liability waiver must be signed. Cost is $20 plus $3 to cross the property owners land. Up to 40lbs of material are free anything above that is 50 cents per pound. Proper safety equipment must be worn.

13 OFTG Field Trip - Medford Quarry, Westminster, Maryland 
Don Lapham has arranged for OFTG members to visit the Medford Quarry in Westminster, MD, USA on Nov. 13, 2004. The quarry is in Wakefield Marble and has produced calcite crystals to nearly 6 inches in length in the past. It also produces colorful lavender marble and white marble with black "spiderweb" patterns that are suitable for carving or lawn ornamentation. Much of the calcite found is fluorescent red under ultraviolet light. 
The trip is limited to the first 12 people to sign up.
