As of 2019, Hungry Hollow field trips - for CCFMS clubs - will be:

1) Spring trip - usually April last Saturday or May first Saturday - co-hosted by London & Niagara clubs.

Weather very often is cold & wet. Ausable River can be fast & dangerous.

2) Mid-summer trip - either July or August - hosted by the CCFMS Central Canadian Federation of Mineralogical Societies.

Weather is usually hot & dry. Ausable River is usually gentle; hence, riverbanks are much safer to collect from.

3) Fall trip - if time and weather permits - not a guaranteed field trip.

4) By special permission trips. Please contact Bob O’Donnell directly for special permission from the site owners.

Please download & print, then fill out, take a pic, & email back either to Ashley or Bob O’Donnell (see envelopes below).

Participants can also fill out these forms at monthly meetings, if made available.

Please ensure as well that this is done a minimum of 10 days before a Hungry Hollow field trip; otherwise, we may not be able to get permission for you to attend. Thanks.

Please note:

When you attend a Hungry Hollow field trip, you are also expected to sign an additional liability waiver when you arrive.

Because of travelling times, some people may arrive early, others arrive later.

It is your responsibility - as an attendee - to ensure that you sign in (& indicate an approx leaving time).

Failure to adhere to the sign-in/sign-out policy will result in being excluded from future Hungry Hollow trips.
